CHP Bike Rodeo Rolls into Success at The Club at Blackstone!

On April 19, 2025 the Club at Blackstone proudly hosted its 1st Annual CHP Bike Rodeo in the south parking lot of the Clubhouse. The event was organized by Placerville CHP with the support of the PTSS Committee. The event focused on teaching children essential bicycle safety skills in a fun, hands-on environment. Families from across the community gathered as children arrived with their bikes and helmets, eager to participate. The energy was electric as excited riders and their families were warmly greeted by the CHP Officers before the event began.

Safety First!

The day kicked off with a bike safety check, where an officer demonstrated key components of a bicycle that should be inspected before every ride. The children listened intently and eagerly examined their own bikes, beaming with pride as they completed their checks.

Next up was a helmet fitting session. Officers guided each participant in adjusting their helmets for a proper fit, ensuring that every child was riding safely from head to toe. It was especially heartening to see that every child who attended brought a helmet great work, parents!

Obstacle Courses and Skill-Building

The highlight of the day was the series of obstacle courses set up throughout the parking lot. Each course was designed to build specific safety skills such as balance, stopping, and awareness of surroundings. Officers guided and encouraged each child through the courses, tailoring challenges to different age and skill levels. Many kids returned to their favorite courses again and again, eager to improve and have fun.

A Day to Remember

This inaugural Bike Rodeo was a memorable mix of fun, education, and community connection. The children had a blast while learning life-long safety skills, and parents appreciated the opportunity to engage in bicycle safety alongside their kids.

A heartfelt thank you to the Placerville CHP officers and the PTSS Committee for making this event such a success. It’s community-driven efforts like these that make a lasting impact.
